Victor Valley Deputies Respond to Report of a Man with a Gun

PHELAN-(VVNG.com): On Thursday, May 14, 2015 a Phelan man was reported to be walking around the yard of his home in the area near Coyote and Smith Road. Per scanner traffic, the male was sitting in a field with a gun to his head.
The incident was reported to dispatch just after 6:00 P.M., and deputies responded to the scene.
Evacuations were made of the man’s family from their home and a few neighborhood residents as a precaution. The man, who according to authorities, was distraught would not comply with the deputies demands, but at no point broke any laws.
A negotiator at the scene was able to talk to the man via cell phone. At approximately 9:00 P.M., deputies eventually left the scene because the man wasn’t breaking any laws.
“The incident ended peacefully without any injuries or further problems,” said Public Information Officer Pam Hoffman.
