Victor Valley College Student Booked for Possession of Loaded Handgun on Campus

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Victor Valley College (VVC) remains committed to the safety and security of its campus community.

On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, an incident occurred involving a student who was reported to be in possession of a firearm, which prompted swift action by VVC Campus Police.

VVC Campus Police was contacted at 12:55 pm this afternoon by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department regarding a 911 call they received.

Officials said it was reported that a male student was in possession of a handgun. VVC Campus Police officers quickly located and detained the VVC student at 12:56 pm without incident.

“A search of the student’s backpack led to the discovery of a loaded handgun,” stated Robert Sewell, Director of Marketing for VVC.

VVC Campus Police is processing the VVC student and they will have him booked at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department for Possession of a Concealed Firearm.

“We are grateful for the quick response and prompt action taken by our campus police officers. No injuries were reported during this incident,” stated Sewell
