VICTORVILLE-(VVNG.com): Just before 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 17, 2016, a vehicle was reported to be off the roadway just south of the Iron Bridge on National Trails Highway. Per scanner traffic, the reporting party told dispatchers that he was unsure if anyone was inside the 2011 black Dodge Charger.
A deputy from the Victorville Station arrived on scene within 3 minutes of the report and hiked down to the vehicle. When the deputy approached the vehicle he learned that there were no occupants inside the vehicle. After inspecting the vehicle further, he located a large rock on the gas pedal of the vehicle.
The circumstances surrounding the vehicle leaving the roadway is still under investigation at this time. Deputies closed National Trails Highway just south of the Iron Bridge while a tow truck was called to the scene to remove the vehicle. Information will be updated as it is received.
