Vegetation Fire in Victorville River Bottom

UPDATE @ 12:55 P.M- The fire is reportedly fully contained at approx. a quarter acre in size. Extensive mop up in progress.

VICTORVILLE:(VVNG.com)- San Bernardino County Firefighters are currently working a small vegetation fire located in the Mojave Riverbed in Victorville.

At approximately 12:30 P.M., on Saturday, September 19, 2015 dispatch received a report from a fire engine reporting smoke in the area near the Cemex plant. Firefighters made their way into the area and located two separate brush fires burning in the middle of the river bottom.

The fire is reported to be about an eighth of an acre with a slow rate of spread. The fire has been dubbed the RiverBottom fire. A Glen Helen hand crew has been requested to respond and assist with the fire.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown. More information will be updated as it becomes available.
