UPDATE: Wrightwood “Pines” Fire 40% Contained Evacuations Lifted

WRIGHTWOOD-(VVNG.com): The evacuations of local campgrounds has been lifted for those evacuated from the “Pines Fire” in the Wrightwood area. T

he cause of the fire that was reported at about 9:45 p.m. on July 17th is still under investigation. Approximately 150 firefighters are still on scene and the fire is holding at 200 burned acres and now at 40% containment

Evacuations have been lifted. Camp Kare, McClellean Flats, and Table Mtn. Campgrounds remain closed.Those needing to enter the area to the area to retrieve belongings may be escorted by Sheriff’s deputies. To do so, they must meet the deputy at the intersection of Table Mountain Road and Highway 2 before 12:00 p.m.

No Injuries have been reported and no structures are eminently threatened at this time. Highway 2 is open but Camp Kare, McClellean Flats, and Table Mtn. Campgrounds remain closed.
Scattered showers and possible thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon, with mostly cloudy weather with a high of 59 degrees. Calm wind is traveling southwest at about 5 miles per hour, but gusts may be as high as 25 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is at 70%.

There are no injuries reported as a result of this fire.
