BARSTOW:(VVNG.com)- On Monday September 22nd, 2014 the San Bernardino County Sheriff Department received a report of a missing 29-year-old Colorado Springs man by the name of Sterling Michael Marshall.
Four days later, on Friday, September 26th, 2014, at approximately 4:40 p.m., approximately 2 miles south of Barstow a tow truck driver who was on a call located a red 1999 Dodge pick up truck in the open desert just west of Barstow Road.
When the tow truck driver approached the vehicle, he noticed a strong foul odor. The driver looked inside the truck window to find that there were bodies of both a man and a dog.
The driver quickly made a call to report his discovery at approximately 4:49 p.m. The Sheriffs who arrived on scene shortly after, determined the pickup truck belonged to Marshall, the missing man.
The coroner will be doing an examination early in the week to determine both the cause of the man’s death and to confirm his identity.
