Update: River Bottom Fire Latest Information

APPLE VALLEY:(VVNG.com)- San Bernardino County Fire and Sheriff personnel flew over the fire in the morning on Wednesday, April 1 and mapped the burn area at 185 acres.
The River Bottom Fire remains at 30% contained. Over 110 San Bernardino County Fire Fighters and hand crews, 2 sheriff water dropping helicopters remain on scene. (Fact: The Bambi Bucket attached to the helicopter can hold up to 150 gallons of water).
Variable winds will be 10-15 MPH today. Officials are advising the public to expect heavy smoke due to burning thick vegetation in the riverbed today. The structure threat has been mitigated.
All mandatory evacuations have been lifted. Riverside Dr in Apple Valley open to residents only.
