APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Two individuals were injured in a multi-vehicle traffic collision on Tuesday morning in the Town of Apple Valley. The incident occurred around 11:30 am on December 10, 2024, along Bear Valley Road near Jess Ranch Parkway.
According to officials from the Sheriff’s Department, a red Dodge Charger was traveling westbound on Bear Valley Road behind a Dodge Ram, which was towing a small enclosed trailer filled with tools. The driver of the Charger rear-ended the Ram, causing it to veer into oncoming traffic and collide with a Nissan Rogue.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and transported the female driver of the Nissan and a passenger from the Charger to local hospitals. Witnesses reported that the Nissan’s driver had recently undergone heart surgery.
An Amazon truck, which sustained minor damage, also stopped at the crash site. Traffic in the area was significantly impacted, with gridlock lasting more than an hour as multiple lanes were blocked by the damaged vehicles.
Several witnesses noted erratic driving behavior from the red Charger prior to the accident. Sharon Waters, a bystander, mentioned that she saw the vehicle speeding and cutting off other cars before the collision. Jessica Echols-Kidwell expressed her concerns while observing the Charger weaving in and out of traffic, stating, “I thought he was going to cause an accident, and then he did.”
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
