Two Hesperia Residents Arrested For Identity Theft

HESPERIA-(VVNG.com): Two Hesperia residents are behind bars for identity theft after using an unnamed victim’s information to obtain credit. On Saturday, December 19th at around 2:30 p.m. deputies from the Hesperia Station took a report of identity theft. The victim told authorities that he lost or had his wallet stolen in November and now had information that someone applied for credit in both his and his son’s name.

Deputies were able to trace the location of the suspects through the identity theft investigation and through the delivery of the property purchased with the stolen credit card. On Monday, January 4th at about 2:13 p.m. a search warrant was served the 16500 block of Muscatel Street at the apartment rented to 21-year-old Thomas Grimes Robertson and 20-year-old Marcedie Melissa Riggens.

During the search, deputies found the stolen credit card, as well as merchandise including furniture purchased using credit issued to the victim’s name. Robertson and Riggens were arrested for Identity Theft, Possession of Stolen Property and Theft of Access Cards or Account Information.

Both suspects were booked into High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto. According to county arrest records, both suspects have since been released and have no court appearance scheduled at this time. Suspects, where their residence is involved in the crime, will be subject to eviction based on the new Crime Free Rental Program in Hesperia.
