Two-car crash in Apple Valley; woman briefly trapped

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A woman was transported to a local hospital with a leg injury following a two-car crash Wednesday night.
The crash was reported at about 8:13 p.m., at the intersection of Deep Creek and Bear Valley Roads.
Deputy Michael Cashion of the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station said the female driver of the truck was traveling eastbound on Bear Valley Road in the #1 lane, and the male driver of the Cadillac was westbound in the turn lanes.
“Both vehicles had a green light, she was going straight, and he failed to yield to her as he made his left turn,” Deputy Cashion stated.
The Cadillac struck the driver side door of the pickup truck causing the female driver to become trapped. After slight extrication she was transported to a local hospital with a possible broken leg.
The driver of the Cadillac declined medical treatment at the scene.
Eastbound lanes at the intersection was temporarily shut down as officials investigated.
Deputy Cashion said drugs or alcohol were not a contributing factor in the crash.
