Two big rigs involved in early morning crash on I-15 in Devore; delays expected as lanes reopen
DEVORE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A crash involving two big rigs on the southbound I-15 Freeway near the 215 split in Devore early Tuesday morning caused significant traffic delays and closed multiple lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported just after 3:14 a.m. on July 15, 2025. Initial CHP incident logs indicated a stalled semi had become a traffic hazard in the middle lanes, when it was struck by a second big rig.
Officers later confirmed both trucks were upright but suffered “major damage” with “lots of debris” across the lanes.
At approximately 3:56 a.m., CHP updated that lanes 1 and 2 were reopened. However, traffic remained extremely slow through the area.
“All lanes were closed at Glen Helen and the 215 split. Car parts were all over the road,” one commuter told VVNG when the crash initially happened.
According to SigAlert.com, as of their last update at 3:44 a.m., the accident blocked two right lanes and caused congestion backed up to Kenwood Avenue. The alert warned of “stop-and-go traffic” and delays up to 20 minutes.
Emergency crews from the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District responded to the crash, and rotation tow services were requested to help clear the scene.
Information on possible injuries were not immediately available as of Tuesday morning, and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
A Caltrans traffic camera showed a heavy backup with traffic squeezing past the crash site under nighttime lighting.
