Two Arrested in the Murder of 24-year-old Adelanto Man

ADELANTO:( Police have announced the arrest of two men in connection with the murder of 24-year-old Samuel Casillas. According to authorities, Sebastian Barbosa, age 20, a resident of Oro Grande was arrested last Friday and Angel Torres, age 19, a resident of Moreno Valley was arrested this past Saturday.

The body of Casillas was discovered by a family member inside a residence in the 14600 block of Palmyra Way in Adelanto on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at approximately 12:00 p.m. Deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station and medical aid responded to the residence and located the Hispanic male, deceased with “suspicious circumstances”.

Detectives have since learned Barbosa and Torres robbed Casillas at his residence and are responsible for Casillas’ death.

Booking logs show, both men were booked for murder and home invasion charges into the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino. Barbosa has no bail amount set and Torres is currently being held on a $1 million bail. Both suspects are scheduled to appear in a Victorville courtroom today at 1:30 P.M.
