WeTip logoHesperia Deputy Gerardo Moreno observed 2 men tampering with a vehicle in the area of Hercules and Sante Fe East at around 9am on Tuesday. Deputy Moreno initiated contact with the two subjects, later identified as Scott Forsberg, 33 and Kody Peterson, 20 of Hesperia. As the two attempted to walk away from the vehicle one of the men dropped a handgun.  Deputy Moreno safely detained both suspects and determined both the handgun and vehicle were stolen.

Deputy Moreno discovered Forsberg was on active CDC Parole under electronic monitoring. With the assistance of fellow deputies and detectives from the Hesperia Station, a search was conducted at Forsberg’s residence in the 17000 block of Willow Street. At the residence deputies found a substantial amount of stolen property. Items recovered have been linked to multiple burglaries throughout the area.

Scott Forsberg, a documented gang member, was arrested and booked at the Victor Valley Jail for PC496d(a), possession of stolen vehicle, PC29800(a)(1), felon in possession of firearm and is being held on $125,000 bail. A no bail hold has also been issued for violation of parole. Kody Peterson was arrested and booked at Victor Valley Jail for PC496(a), receiving stolen property and his bail was set at $25,000.

This is an active investigation and additional charges are pending for both suspects. Anyone with information is asked to please contact the Detective Bureau at the Hesperia Sheriff Station, 760-947-1500.

This is an ongoing effort by the Hesperia Police Department to protect the communities it serves. Citizens are encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Department or WE-TIP INC(1-800-78-CRIME, www.wetip.com) to report suspicious or criminal activity and can remain anonymous.
