Tree lighting marks the start of the holidays in Apple Valley

Apple Valley, CA (news release) – November 16, 2017: It’s big! It’s bright! It’s our tree of lights. The community is invited to join the Mayor, Town Council, and Santa as they flip the switch to light it on Tuesday, December 5 during the Town of Apple Valley Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Town Hall.

Holiday cheer will abound at this family friendly event that will feature falling snow, selfies with Santa, live entertainment, free hot chocolate, and ornaments while supplies last. The fun begins at 5 p.m. at Town Hall, 14955 Dale Evans Parkway.

A Penny A Kiss will greet the season with A Dancers Point holiday dancers. Santa will arrive at the tree by fire engine about 5:50 p.m., courtesy of the Apple Valley Fire Protection District.

The event will culminate with the lighting of the “Grand Tree of Lights” between Town Hall and the Development Services Building at 6 p.m. The tree was purchased in 2015 in part by donations from Rotary Club of Apple Valley, Scott and Susan Nassif, Apple Valley Communications, The Village of Apple Valley and Hitt Plumbing.

Admission and parking are free. For more information please call (760) 240-7000, x 7071 or visit
