VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) A family of five escaped serious injury after a tree fell on top of their mobile home Thursday afternoon.

The high-winds caused a tree to topple over and land on a trailer located inside the Iron Horse Mobile Home Park near D Street and Sherman Way in Victorville, trapping the family inside the home.

Karla Gallegos, the resident of the trailer said she heard a loud boom and her son looked out the window and saw a tree blocking the front door.

Deputy Evans with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department assisted the family that had to crawl under the fallen tree.

The tree landed on top of the families metal porch cover before resting on the home and blocking the main door. A Victorville Sheriff’s deputy was able to pry the rear door open and helped the family to safety.

Victor Valley News has received a number reports of fallen trees throughout the Victor Valley as a result of strong winds.
