Tread Separation Suspected in Rollover Crash on 15 Freeway

VICTORVILLE-(VVNG.com): At around 12:45 p.m. on Friday afternoon deputies from the Victorville Station, the CHP, and emergency personnel were dispatched to a single vehicle traffic collision near the I-15 and the Nisqualli road onramp.
The vehicle, a white Chevy pickup truck was traveling southbound on the I-15 at around 65 miles per hour when the tread of a rear tire separated. The driver braked suddenly causing the vehicle to crash through the chain link fence. The truck rolled onto the dirt shoulder of Amargosa Road landing on its side.
The passenger of the vehicle was trapped, requiring extrication. The male occupant was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries. The driver sustained minor injuries including lacerations but declined medical transport.
There are no other injuries reported as a result of the collision.
