Transient Wielding a Hatchet Arrested for Robbery and Obstruction in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 30-year-old transient wielding a hatchet was arrested for obstruction and robbery after causing a disturbance inside the Home Depot.

It happened on Friday, January 19, 2024, at approximately 11:50 a.m., at 15655 Roy Rogers Drive in Victorville.

Upon arrival, deputies located the male suspect, later identified as Davon Woodard, a transient of Victorville, outside of the business.

According to a sheriff’s news release, Woodard was walking to the rear of the location with unpaid merchandise. Woodard, with a hatchet in each hand, attempted to walk away from deputies. Deputy Barajas was able to detain Woodard and take him into custody.

Woodard was arrested for PC 211- Robbery and PC 148(A)(1)- Obstructing a Public Officer and booked at High Desert Detention Center. He is currently being held at West Valley Detention Center in leiu of $50,000 bail.
