Traffic Collision Damages Utility Pole, Forces Road Closures In Apple Valley

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) – A two-vehicle traffic collision involving a Chevrolet pickup truck and a Toyota sedan damaged an Edison pole Wednesday morning, forcing multiple road closures in Apple Valley.
The collision was reported on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at about 10:09 a.m., at the intersection of Waalew Road and Dale Evans Parkway.
According to Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station public information officer Taylor Reynolds, the Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling south on Dale Evans Parkway when it collided with an Edison pole. A Toyota sedan then crashed into the rear of the pickup truck.
The collision damaged the utility pole and caused power lines to fall into the roadway, prompting the closure of eastbound and westbound Waalew Road at Comanche Road and the closure of northbound Dale Evans Parkway at Taos Road.
Authorities said the roadway remains closed pending repairs by Edison crews.
Minor injuries were reported to the parties involved. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision, according to Reynolds.
The Town of Apple Valley also issued a traffic alert on social media advising motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
