OAK HILLS, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A Toyota 4Runner was hit by a train when the driver tried to cross the tracks, and the SUV got stuck.
It happened at about 2:42 pm, on January 7, 2024, in the 6300 block of Adkins Road, near Juniper Lane.
The male driver of the SUV attempted to cross over the railroad tracks in a non-designated crossing area resulting in the vehicle becoming disabled on the tracks.
According to the driver, the vehicle suddenly lost power and wouldn’t start back up. The sole occupant of the vehicle was able to exit safely from the SUV and within about 10 minutes, it was struck by an oncoming train.
The impact caused the SUV to sustain major front-end damage and was pushed off the train tracks. No injuries were reported.
Always use designated railroad crossings, avoiding any unauthorized or illegal crossings. These crossings are designed for safe passage over the tracks.
