Tire marks from stolen off-road vehicle lead deputies to the suspects home in Phelan

PHELAN, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Deputies called to investigate a stolen off-road vehicle, followed tracks on the ground that led them to the suspects home.

It happened in the 10900 Block of Del Rosa Road in the town of Phelan on Wednesday, January 23, 2019.

Just before 9:00 am, deputies G. Solorio and K. Schuler responded to take the report and learned the suspect(s) broke through the victim’s fence.

“It was obvious by tracks on the ground, had drug the side by side behind a vehicle,” stated a sheriff’s news release.

Deputies followed the tracks approximately 3 miles along the dirt roads, at one point having to pick up the tracks again after crossing pavement, eventually locating the off-road vehicle at a residence in the 7900 block of Saratoga Road, in Phelan.

Justin Willis, 32, of Phelan, was arrested for possession of stolen property and outstanding warrants. He is currently being held at High Desert Detention Center in lieu of $200,000.00 bail.
