Tire blowout causes rollover crash on I-15 in the cajon pass

CAJON PASS, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A rollover crash on the 15 freeway was likely caused by a tire blowout.
The single-vehicle crash was reported at 9:43 am on the southbound I-15, north of Kenwood Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol incident logs, a blown tire caused a gray Fiat to overturn and land on its roof in the center divider. CHP dispatch received additional reports of a baby that was inside of the overturned vehicle.
Motorists passing the scene of the crash reported seeing a couple with a baby standing outside of the vehicle and they looked to be ok.
No injuries were reported. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the official cause of the collision.
What to do in a tire blowout:
- Keep a firm grip on the steering wheel.
- Do not slam on your brakes.
- Let your car slow down gradually.
- Pull to the side of the road.
- Turn on your emergency flashers.
- Call for help.
