Three Killed, Two Airlifted After Rollover Crash On Northbound I-15 Near Calico Road
YERMO, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Three people were killed, and multiple others were injured in a rollover crash on northbound Interstate 15 near Calico Road on Monday afternoon, according to California Highway Patrol incident logs and emergency radio traffic.
The crash was reported at approximately 12:51 p.m. on June 22, 2026, on northbound Interstate 15 south of Calico Road. Initial reports described a red Chevrolet Tahoe that overturned into the center divider.
Within minutes, CHP dispatchers received reports that all northbound lanes were blocked and that two occupants had been ejected from the vehicle.
An off-duty paramedic who stopped at the scene advised dispatchers there were multiple injured victims, including a child suffering a head injury. The paramedic requested three ambulances and reported that one victim was lying in the roadway but was still breathing.
As firefighters, paramedics and CHP officers arrived, responders worked to treat several victims. Due to the severity of the injuries, two patients were airlifted from the scene to trauma centers.
According to the CHP incident log, three people died as a result of the crash. At approximately 1:13 p.m., CHP units requested a hard closure of the freeway and asked that the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Coroner’s Division be notified to respond to the scene.
The collision caused significant traffic delays on Interstate 15 as authorities shut down lanes and diverted vehicles off the freeway to allow emergency crews to work safely.
Responders also requested animal control assistance for two French bulldogs that were inside the vehicle. Radio traffic indicated the dogs were not injured and arrangements were made for their safe retrieval from the crash scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
This is a developing story and information will be updated as it becomes available.
