Three Hospitalized After Head-on Crash on El Evado Road in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Three people were transported to the hospital following a head-on collision Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of El Evado Road and Cholame Road in Victorville.
The crash happened at about 1:50 p.m. on February 3, 2026, and involved a black four-door Kia sedan and a gray Chevrolet Z71 Trail Boss pickup truck.
According to a witness, the pickup was traveling south on El Evado Road and crossed into oncoming traffic in an attempt to pass other vehicles when it collided head-on with the northbound Kia.
Both occupants of the Kia were injured in the crash. The male passenger suffered critical injuries and was rushed by ambulance to St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Firefighters used extrication tools to free the driver, who was trapped inside the vehicle.
The driver of the Kia, along with the male driver of the pickup truck, was also transported to a local hospital.
Area residents voiced frustration following the crash, citing repeated issues with speeding and drivers illegally crossing into oncoming lanes to pass vehicles waiting to make turns onto side roads.

“This happens all the time, people just can’t wait, so they go into the other lane to pass us while we’re trying to turn onto our street,” one resident said.
Locals are calling for the installation of speed bumps, stop signs, or other traffic-calming measures to help improve safety along El Evado Road.
The crash investigation is being handled by the California Highway Patrol’s Victorville Station.
