With Thanksgiving coming fast I know some were too busy to notice the greatness and unity of our local community.

As you know, Thanksgiving is a time when traditionally families and friends get together to celebrate the many things we are thankful for. Many celebrations, if not most, include a traditional Thanksgiving meal that families cook and enjoy together.
Many local families expressed the fact that they wanted to celebrate with their families in this way but could not afford to celebrate with a meal because of financial difficulties. Many including families, local business’, and groups stepped up to fill these needs. Victor Valley News member and business owner, Azmi Alsanam, seen my post on VVNG stepped up immediately to help. Other Victor Valley business’, like Druckenmiller Roofing and CyberCall in Victorville also stepped up in huge ways to help families with Thanksgiving meals. Regular people even stepped up, all with very nice donations that helped the groups and organizations fill the needs of the those who came to them in need of assistance. Some of these people had very little of their own but still wanted to share what they could to help another local family in need.
On Monday, Friends of Tent City had a Thanksgiving feast and celebration for many of our community’s homeless. Local groups like Victor Valley Brown Sack lunches stepped up and also with the help of the community were able to fill about 25 Thanksgiving Baskets for local families in need.
The outpouring of love and support to others in our community is just one of the many things that makes me proud to be a Victor Valley resident. This again shows us that as a community there is nothing we can not achieve together.
I want to wish everyone a safe and very Happy Thanksgiving!
