The Society For Creative Anachronism brings the Middle Ages to the High Desert!

VICTORVILLE: Chivalry, Knights, Kings and Queens are nothing out of the ordinary with the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). The SCA is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to researching and recreating the arts and skills of the pre-17th century. Most of the organization revolves around historical Europe and our “Known World” consists of 19 kingdoms with over 30,000 members from all around the world.

In the society you have the opportunity to learn and practice various historical skills and arts. Members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which feature tournaments, royal courts, feasts, dancing, with various classes, workshops and more. Garment making, armor making, chainmaille, archery, jewelry making and needlework are to name a few.

The society welcomes all ages and is also a great place to meet new like-minded people and gain lifelong friendships.

Saturday, March 29th, the High Desert’s local SCA chapter, the Shire of Al-Sahid, will be celebrating their 25th anniversary out at Schmidt park located at the old George Air Force Base/SCLA.

The public is welcome to come and join us for a day of armored combat, archery, rapier and more more! Fighters and activities will start at around 11:30 a.m. and will continue till around 4:00 p.m.

This event is free to attend so come out and learn what we are all about!
