Teen Girl Robbed of Her Chain at Gunpoint While Walking Home From School in Victorville
VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Deputies are searching for a juvenile suspect who allegedly robbed a teenage girl at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon before fleeing through residential backyards when confronted by the victim’s father.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:33 p.m. on March 10, 2026, near Arvila Street and Georgetown Lane in Victorville.
According to a written statement from the Victorville Police Department, the female juvenile was walking home from school when she was approached by an unknown Hispanic male juvenile.
The suspect lifted his shirt to display the grip of a handgun tucked into his pants and demanded the girl’s chain.
The victim complied and handed over the jewelry before the suspect fled the area.
Deputies said the girl immediately ran to her father, who was parked nearby. The father pursued the suspect and confronted him in the backyard of a nearby residence. During the confrontation, the suspect dropped the stolen chain, which was recovered.
The suspect then continued running, jumping fences and fleeing through residential backyards.
Deputies conducted an extensive search of the area, including assistance from Sheriff’s Aviation, but the suspect was not located.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male juvenile, approximately 16 years old, with a bowl-style haircut. He was last seen wearing a black Nike Tech sweatshirt, black sweatpants, black glasses, and carrying a backpack.
The investigation is ongoing.
