Tacos Mexico and Customers Robbed At Gunpoint

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) An investigation is underway at the Tacos Mexico in Victorville after it was robbed at gunpoint on Wednesday at 10:40 p.m.
According to scanner traffic, a suspect armed with a black handgun went into the restaurant, located at 14876 Bear Valley Rd, and demanded money.
According to a witness at the restaurant, there were at least seven customers and four employees at the location during the robbery.
The witness said the armed man did not point the gun directly at the patrons but had the weapon in his hands while demanding for their personal belongings.
The suspect later identified as Semaj Kelly, 19, also searched the customers and stole purses, wallets, and phones before fleeing in a vehicle.
The vehicle was stopped shortly after on Mariposa Road in front of the Green Tree Inn hotel; deputies arrested five occupants in the vehicle.
An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the restaurant’s cash register, and several patrons had their belongings stolen during the robbery.
The California Highway Patrol conducted a traffic break on the 15 Freeway while deputies searched for the weapon that was tossed out.
The .9mm handgun was located along the 15 Freeway near the Palmdale Road offramp.
Kelly is currently being held at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto in lieu of $100,000 bail.
