SUV overturns and lands on top of the K-rail on I-15 Freeway in Hesperia
HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A black Audi SUV overturned on the I-15 freeway in the City of Hesperia on Thursday afternoon, landing on the center divider.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:46 pm on August 22, 2024, on the northbound side just before the Ranchero Road overpass.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) incident logs, the SUV collided with a tractor-trailer before overturning and landing atop the K-rail in the center divider. The semi-truck lost a mudflap and continued its journey, leaving the scene of the accident.
The female driver of the SUV managed to exit the vehicle and was transported by ambulance with injuries that were not immediately specified.
A witness reported seeing the tractor-trailer near Bear Valley Road, noting damage to the rear of the trailer. It is unclear if CHP officers have since made contact with the driver of the semi-truck.
For the safety and efficiency of the investigation and vehicle removal, CHP temporarily closed one lane of the freeway.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Victorville Station.
