Suspects Arrested for Stealing Construction Equipment

PINON HILLS:(VVNG.com)- Two Pinon Hills men have been arrested after they were caught stealing materials from a construction site on Highway 138 near Oasis.
According to a press release, on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, deputies from the Rural Crimes Task Force with the assistance of deputies from the Phelan Station located two suspects stealing heavy equipment batteries from Flat Iron Construction in Pinon Hills.
This construction site has been the victim of numerous thefts of batteries. The theft of batteries from a road construction sign left the sign inoperable and a danger to drivers on Hwy 138 who would be left unaware of roadway hazards.
Through investigation, the Rural Crimes Task Force was able to place 25-year-old Andrew Cummings and 45-year-old Benjamin Misenheimer in custody for Possession of Stolen Property. Both subjects were located in possession of stolen property from the construction site.
