132 Roosters seized from illegal cockfighting operation in Hesperia; Suspect Sought

Police want to speak Edgar Boiso, 29, for questioning

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) A search warrant at a Hesperia home Monday morning led authorities to discover an illegal cockfighting operation.

Through investigation it was determined the property located in the 9000 block of Cottonwood Avenue was, in fact, being used as a breeding and training location for cockfighting.

On Wednesday, August 30, 2017, deputies from the Rural Crime Task Force along with Victor Valley and Hesperia detectives, served a search warrant at a residence in Hesperia.

“During the search warrant, multiple implements of cockfighting were found, including cockfighting knifes, cockfighting paraphernalia, and a training facility. During the investigation, 132 roosters were seized from the location,” stated a sheriff’s news release.

Officials say Edgar Boiso, 29, is considered to be the primary suspect and was not at the residence during the search warrant. “Boiso is wanted for questioning in this case and another case for assault with a deadly weapon,” stated the release.
