A news release states, “On October 2nd, 2013, at approximately 2:33 a.m., Deputies of the Apple Valley Station were dispatched to a report of vandalism in the 20000 block of Sholic Rd, Apple Valley.  The victim reported her ex-boyfriend, Aaron Smith, age 29 of Apple Valley was pounding on the door and had shut off the power to her home. At the location, deputies discovered several thousand dollars worth of damage had been done to the victim’s current boyfriend’s vehicle.

At approximately 3:28 a.m., Deputy Crosswhite observed a vehicle matching the vehicle Smith was last seen driving.  Deputy Crosswhite attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle, but Smith failed to yield and collided with a stop sign at the corner of Ottawa Rd. and Kiowa Rd., in the Town of Apple Valley. After a short struggle that resulted in a minor injury to a deputy, suspect Smith was taken into custody without further incident.

Deputies located evidence inside the vehicle that connected Smith with the vandalism that occurred on Sholic Rd. The vehicle Smith was driving, a 1993 white Honda Accord, was reported stolen from the 10000 block of Allie Ct, in Hesperia at approximately 8:35 a.m. on October 1st, 2013.

Suspect Aaron Smith was arrested and booked at Victor Valley Jail on charges of PC594-felony vandalism, VC2800.2-felony evading and PC496-possession of stolen property.”
