Suspect arrested for Attempted Murder, Aggravated Mayhem and Kidnapping to Commit Rape

On May 23, 2013, at 8:07 a.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to an apartment in the 14000 block of Seneca Road in Victorville following a report that a female was being held against her will at the location.

Upon arrival, deputies located a female adult with numerous serious injuries to her face and arms. A male adult, identified as Johnnie Pitchford, was also inside of the apartment and found to be on felony probation out of Adelanto. The female was in serious condition due to her injuries and transported by ambulance to St. Mary’s hospital.

The investigation revealed that Pitchford and the victim knew each other but no longer associated with one another. The evening prior, Pitchford came uninvited to the female’s apartment and assaulted her up to the point that deputies arrived.

Pitchford was booked at the West Valley Detention Center on felony charges of PC 664/187 – attempted murder, PC 209(b)(1) – kidnapping to commit rape, and PC 205 – Aggravated Mayhem. His bail was set at $1,000,000 dollars.

Pitchford is on felony probation out of Adelanto for HS 11350(a) – Possession of a controlled substance.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is encouraged to contact Detective Paul Solorio of the Victorville Police Department at (760)241-2911.
