Submissions Open for Community Calendar Photo Contest

APPLE VALLEY:(VVNG.com)- The Town of Apple Valley invites local amateur and professional photographers to take their best shot…and then enter them in the 2015 Community Calendar Photo Contest
The theme this year is “Healthy Apple Valley.” Healthy people, healthy animals, a healthy environment and plenty of recreational activities all contribute to Apple Valley’s “Better Way of Life.”
People who live, work, volunteer or attend school in Apple Valley are eligible to submit entries that highlight these healthy attributes our Town offers its residents and neighbors. The contest is open to both adults and children and recognition will be given in both professional and amateur categories. Selected contest entries may be published in our 2015 Community Calendar.
Entries showcasing local people, places and activities are encouraged such as:
- Healthy Apple Valley programs like VANtastic
- Special events such as Freedom Festival and Sunset Concerts
- Local pets or shots from the Paws N’ Claws Pet Fair
- Recycling programs or clean-up day activities
- Recent activities at the Civic Center pool
- Other green, healthy or recreational programs
New this year to the calendar contest is #MyAppleValleyCA. This summer, through August 15, post your photos to Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter and use #MyAppleValleyCA. Our favorites may be used in a collage in the calendar. Use of the hashtag indicates permission to publish your photo and user name to Town Social media sites, websites, or other printed or electronic materials.
Entries are due October 1 by 5 p.m. at Town Hall or via email to cengeron@applevalley.org. Submission forms must be turned in for each entry and are available at www.AppleValley.org under the Public Information Department or by request at Town Hall or by calling (760)240-7000 X 7072.
