SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (VVNG.com) Motorist should plan ahead for a scheduled widening project that will require a full closure of Highway 138 for several days.
Starting on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 11:00 p.m. until Monday, September 11, 2017 at 4:00 a.m. there will be a full roadway closure on SR-138 between Cajon Creek and Lone Pine Canyon Road.
Caltrans officials say the full closure is necessary to cold plane and asphalt overlay the roadway.
“Motorists will have access to businesses during the full closure. There will also be eastbound access to Lone Pine Canyon Road during the full closure. Advanced warning signs will be placed to inform motorists of closure limits,” stated a news release.
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) continues work on the $52.1 million State Route 138 (SR-138) West Widening Project.
List of Detours:
- Traveling northbound on Interstate 15 (I-15): Stay on northbound I-15, use State Route 395 (SR- 395) northbound exit, keep on SR-395 to westbound SR-18, to westbound/eastbound SR-138.
- Traveling southbound on I-15: Use SR-395 northbound to SR-18 westbound to SR-138 eastbound/westbound. Use SR-138 eastbound to access SR-2.
- Traveling eastbound on SR-138 to I-15: Use SR-18 eastbound to I-15 north/southbound or use SR-395 southbound to I-15 southbound.
- Traveling eastbound on SR-138 to SR-2: Use SR-138 eastbound.
