Storm Plummeted Through the Desert Causing Flash Flooding

HELENDALE:(VVNG.com)- The 4th of July storm, that sent out a flash flood warnings throughout several high desert areas plummeted through the Helendale area causing flooding, resulting in the closure of National Trails Highway Road (Route 66).
Flooding as well as damage to the road due to this mid-summer storm was the reported cause of this holiday evening road closure. Major repair of the compromised road, which was done on Saturday July 5th, was required prior to reopening.
Roads have been reopened to traffic. Minor work will continue on Monday, July 7th in order to complete the work necessary.
