Stabbing victim found unconscious on Desert Knoll Drive in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A man believed to be a transient was found unconscious in the roadway after he was stabbed in the back, officials said.

At about 11:16 pm on August 21, 2019, a passerby in the 16200 block of Desert Knoll Drive saw a person down in the street, bleeding, and called Sheriff’s Dispatch.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez said when deputies arrived they located the victim, unconscious and bleeding. “He had sustained a stab wound to his back,” stated Rodriguez.

Victorville City Fire requested a helicopter and the victim was airlifted to an out of area trauma center. Rodriguez said the 56-year old victim is expected to survive.

Interviews were conducted with individuals in the area and the investigation to identify and locate the suspect(s) is on-going.
