BAKER:(VVNG.com)- A 29-year-old Southgate man involved in a fatal traffic accident on the 15 freeway has been identified as Walter Pena.
According to authorities, on September 6, 2014 at approximately 11:43 p.m., a 911 call was received reporting a single vehicle rollover in the center divider of Interstate 15 northbound approximately 1 mile south of Zzyzx Road in the rural area of Baker, CA.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the collision and located a Lincoln Navigator rolled over onto its roof. The sole occupant was pronounced dead at 12:05 a.m., on September 7, 2014.
It was determined the vehicle was traveling northbound on Interstate 15 when, for reasons unknown, it left the roadway into the center divider and began to roll over coming to rest on its roof, according to authorities.
The California Highway Patrol-Barstow office is investigating the incident.
