Son Arrested for Attempted Murder of His Own Father

LUCERNE VALLEY, CA:(VVNG.com)– A 35-year-old Lucerne Valley man was arrested for attempting to murder his own father, authorities said.

On Saturday, October 8, 2016, at approximately 10:12 am deputies were called to a residence in the 9900 block of Verdugo Road in Lucerne regarding an assault.

Deputy William Carlton of the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station, Lucerne Valley substation, responded to the location and made contact with the resident.

Deputy Carlton’s investigation found that the victim’s son, Taylor Gregory Bishop, had been threatening and assaulting him over the course of several days. At one point, the suspect choked the victim until he passed out. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries which were deemed non-life-threatening.

At approximately 11:34 am deputies received a call that the suspect was traveling back to the residence and contacted him in the Lucerne Valley Market parking lot. Taylor Bishop was arrested and transported to High Desert Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail.
