LUCERNE VALLEY-(VVNG.com): A Lucerne Valley man was booked into jail on Thursday, September 17th on suspicion of vehicle theft and an out-of-county arrest warrant. Deputies from the Lucerne Valley station became aware of a social media post, believed to be illegal in nature made by 38-year-old William Leair.
Upon making this discovery, they immediately began an investigation, where they learned of Leair’s arrest warrant out of Kings County. The Specialized Enforcement Division worked on locating Leair for his warrant, during which time he committed additional crimes.
Leair was seen on September 3rd near a residence at Foothill Road in Lucerne Valley, but was able to avoid capture. On September 11th Leair was involved in a fight and stole a vehicle.
A search warrant was obtained on September 16th for the search of Leair’s residence on Foothill Road in Lucerne Valley. The warrant was served on September 17th, and Leair was taken into custody. He was transported and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for vehicle theft and the warrant out of Kings County. Leair is being held without bail.
