PHELAN-(VVNG.com)- Snowline School District music teacher, Michael Duffer, 41 was arrested in the 1200 block of Buttercup Ct., Mentone on February 12th.
The teacher, employed at three different elementary schools including Vista Verde Elementary, Heritage School and Wrightwood Elementary was arrested on charges of possession of child pornography.
On Monday, February 2, at approximately 3:00 P.M., and incident occurred on the campus of Vista Verde Elementary school. The principal reported that Duffer was observed partially undressed and watching obscene materials on his computer on school campus after hours.
Law enforcement was immediately notified of the incident and Duffer was placed on administrative leave by the school district.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Specialized Investigations Division – Crimes against Children Detail took over the investigation. Detectives learned Duffer had been accessing child pornography from external storage devices, using the school computers as a means to view the content.
Upon investigation of Duffer’s home computers and external storage devices data analysis confirmed several files containing child pornography including photos and videos. Duffer is also a part-time employee at First United Methodist Church in Redlands.
Duffer was booked into the Central Detention Center with a bail amount of $25,000. He is due in court on February 17th in San Bernardino Superior Court.
