Small Child Found Wandering Alone in Hesperia

HESPERIA, CA: (VVNG.com)– A small child was found wandering the street in nothing but a diaper just before 8am Monday morning.
Per scanner traffic, at about 8:15 a.m. dispatch received a call from a reporting party stating they found a juvenile in the area of I Avenue and Laurel Street sitting on the side of the road in a diaper.
The child was reported to be a girl between 3-4 years of age.
Authorities immediately conducted an extensive door to door search for the child’s parents.
At about 9:30 am the child’s parents were located at an apartment on the 8900 block of I Avenue in Hesperia.
According to a family member who will remain anonymous, the child is autistic and 7-years-old.
“I don’t know why, but it is her mission to go outside. My sister hardly sleeps because she fears of my niece going outside. And she has a baby to watch over as well. It can be overwhelming. Yes, they even got a top lock. My niece pulls the couch over to unlock. My sister fell asleep. My niece got out and took her clothes off,” stated the family member.
“I cant imagine the panic she left to see the door open. Thank you everyone, for not bashing her and understanding. These things do happen. I hope my sister understands that.”
