VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Authorities are conducting an investigation at a busy intersection following an early morning traffic accident Thursday morning.
At about 9am, deputies responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian at Hesperia Road and Verde Street in Victorville.
According to a witness, a young male was on a skateboard riding down the Verde Street commonly known as ‘Hospital Hill’ and was unable to stop as he entered the intersection and crashed into the rear tires of a small bus.
Immediately after the impact, the witness ran over to render aid but there was nothing he could do.
“He came flying down the hill and went under the rear of the bus and she [the driver] drove over him,”stated the witness.
Sheriff’s officials stated the bus was northbound on Hesperia Road and had just entered the intersection at Verde Street when it was struck. Officials also said there were no passengers on the small bus at the time of the collision and the driver was uninjured.
