Silverwood Lake without power due to SCE’s public safety power shutoff

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Campers planning on visiting Silverwood Lake in Hesperia this weekend should be advised that power has been shut off to the park as part of SCE’s public safety power shutoff’s.
According to Edison staff onsite, the power outage could last through the weekend.
According to a post on the official Silverwood Lake State Rec Area Facebook page, “there are no electric hook-ups, no street lights, no lights in restrooms, and no hot water.”
The post also encouraged campers to come prepared with flashlights, lanterns, and batteries or generators for RVs and trailers.
Earlier this week, on October 24th, lake officials said wood and charcoal fires or grills will not be permitted in any of the campground or day-use areas of Silverwood Lake SRA due to weather conditions and increased fire danger.
Propane gas grills, stoves, and heaters are permitted.
The restriction is set to expire Monday, October 28, 2019, however may be rescinded early or extended if weather conditions improve or worsen.
The areas under SCE’s “Public Safety Power Shutoffs” will expire on Sunday, October 27th at 6:00 pm.
