Victorville: Silverado High School was placed on a brief lock down, on Thursday at around 1 p.m., following a

report of a suspicious box located in the schools gymnasium. All students, teachers, and faculty were ordered to remain inside their classrooms while the immediate scene was cleared.
Students sent out text messages to worried parents alerting them about the unfolding situation on campus. Through our Facebook group VVNG, parents had a way to keep each other informed in real time, helping to ease the worrying.
After inspecting the suspicious box it was determined to be a false alarm. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department have cleared the scene and given the all clear. All classes and daily operations on the campus have resumed.
