Sig Alert issued after semi catches fire on SB I-15 in Rancho Cucamonga

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A tractor-trailer fire has prompted a Sig Alert on the southbound I-15 freeway, north of 4th Street in Rancho Cucamonga.
According to the California Highway Patrol incident logs, just before 9:30 am dispatch received reports of a semi traveling on the I-15 freeway with its rear brakes on fire.
The driver of the semi noticed the smoke from the brake fire and pulled to the right shoulder.
A CalTrans traffic cam looking north at the exit showed the cab no longer attached to the trailer and heavy white smoke.
CHP has shut down the #3 and 4 lanes for an unknown duration, prompting a Sig Alert.
No injuries have been reported and motorists traveling through the area should expect delays.
