Shots Fired at Pilot Fire Aircraft Unfounded

HESPERIA, Calif :(VVNG.com) – On Sunday evening dispatch received reports of two subjects allegedly shooting at an aircraft fighting the Pilot Fire.
Deputies immediately responded to the area of Powerline Road and Deep Creek Road south of Hesperia Lakes.
Per scanner reports, the suspects were near a white Ford Fusion armed with semi-automatic rifles.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Cynthia Bachman told Victor Valley News, units from the Hesperia and Victor Valley stations responded and located two subjects who were shooting in the desert area west of Arrowhead Lake Road and south of Hesperia Lakes.
“Deputies determined they were not shooting at [an] aircraft and the weapons were legal and registered,” stated Bachman.
