HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Several guns were picked up by sheriff’s deputies following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Hesperia early Monday morning.
The crash was reported at 1:01 a.m. at the intersection of I Avenue and Manzanita Street and involved a white 2005 Dodge Ram 1500.
Deputies from the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station responded and located one male driver who was uninjured during the crash.
For reasons unknown, the driver was traveling southbound on I Avenue when he lost control and crashed into a dirt hill, causing the pickup truck to overturn in an empty lot.
Deputies were not witnessed conducting a field sobriety test, and an officer on scene told Victor Valley News that they would not be able to determine if the driver was under the influence pending the investigation.
At least 4 guns were located inside gun cases that were then placed in the back of the sheriff’s patrol unit. Deputies brought out evidence bags to collect items from the vehicle. It’s unclear what items were collected as evidence.
The identity of the driver and details surrounding the incident has not been released.
An email request made to the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station for additional information on this incident was referred to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Headquarters. No further information has been provided at this time.
