Semi catches fire in cajon pass Friday night and spreads to vegetation

CAJON PASS, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Firefighters were able to knock down a semi fire on the I-15 freeway that spread to vegetation Friday night.
It happened just before 9:30 pm on the southbound I-15, about a mile after Cleghorn Road.
Fire crews arrived on scene and confirmed the cab of the semi was fully engulfed and the fire had caught nearby brush on fire.
The driver was able to safely exit the cab and no injuries were reported.
Firefighters will remain on scene as they continue to mop-up the quarter-acre area of the fire. The no 3 and 4 lanes are expected to remain blocked for several hours.
The official cause of the fire is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
