Victorville, Calif. (PRESS RELEASE) –Just like the little pigs racing to the finish line, the 70th Annual San Bernardino County Fair is off and running.
“We have a variety of special community discount days,” explained Patrick Kahler, Board of Directors President for the 28th District Agricultural Association.
Monday, May 22 is Girl Scouts Day. Any adults or children wearing Girl Scouts apparel receive discounted admission of $5 per person. No Girl Scouts in the family? Not to worry! Bring any can of Rockstar Mojito energy drink (only available at AM/PM) and receive free Fair admission (one can per person).
The Fair takes a break and closes on Tuesday and Wednesday before kicking off the long holiday weekend on Thursday, May 25 with Senior Day and Cancer Awareness. The first 250 seniors, age 55 and better get in free, compliments of the Victor Valley Regional Council on Aging and Inter Valley Health Plan. In addition and all day, all seniors age 55 and older, or anyone wearing a cancer awareness shirt receives discounted admission of just $5.
On Memorial Day, the Fair honors all members of the military as active duty and veterans receive free Fair admission with identification.
Swifty Swine Productions takes their pint-sized porkers across the finish line every day with multiple show times and audience interaction. Don’t forget to stop and visit a tiny week-old calf, along with an assortment of full sized swine including “Kevin Bacon,” “Porkahontas,” and “Ham. L. Ton” in the livestock area.
Roving entertainers include Tadpole the Clown, and B.C. Characters. Prehistoric Adventures brings the Jurassic era back to life with “Tonka” the T-Rex and “Velocity ” the Velociraptor, colossal creatures standing 8’ tall and 16’ long. Children can learn, interact, and have their photos taken with these life-size fully animatronic, walking dinosaurs.
“The weather looks great, the food is awesome and the rides are fun. We’ve had a great start and I hope everyone in the County makes their way to the Fair over the next week and a half,” said Kahler.
All general admission is $7 and children five and under get in free. The Fair is open May 20th to the 22nd and May 25th through the 29th. Tickets are on sale now.
