San Bernardino murder suspect arrested inside Victorville apartment complex

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A suspect wanted for murder out of San Bernardino was arrested inside his Victorville apartment Monday evening.

Corey LaPaul Herring, 28, of Victorville, was arrested by detectives on Monday, January 21, 2019, at the Newporter Apartments in the 15200 block of Seneca Road.

According to authorities, Herring was arrested on suspicion of murder and booked into the Central Detention Center and is being held on a $1 Million bail.

Herring is believed to be the suspect who shot and killed a man at a home at 632 Crescent Avenue on January 14, 2019. The victim in the murder was identified as 45-year-old Richard Sams.

Authorities have offered no details or a motive for the shooting.

On January 23, 2019, Herring plead not guilty to murder charges. His next court appearance will be on the 31st for a pre-preliminary hearing.
